I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of University of Virginia. I am also a member of the UVA Link Lab. I got my B.S. and M.S. from Tsinghua University, and Ph.D. from UCLA. I received the NSF CAREER award in 2022.
My research interests span a number of interdisciplinary topics in machine learning, communications, and networking, with an emphasis on theoretical models, algorithms, and practical engineering applications. Some of my current research topics are:

Apr. 2024: Our project “Privacy-preserving Synthetic Data Generation” has been selected for funding by the CCI CATAPULT program. Joint effort with Prof. Tianhao Wang.
Apr. 2024: Received UVA Engineering Research Innovation Awards (RIA) on the project “Artificial Insect Eye for Spatiotemporal Perception and Cognition in 3D Space via Edge Computing”. Joint effort with Prof. Kyusang Lee.
Apr. 2024: PhD student Zihan Chen won the 2024 ECE Department Ann Lee Brown Rookie of the Year Graduate Research Award. Congratulations!
Apr. 2024: Our project titled “Integrating Federated Split Neural Network with Artificial Stereoscopic Compound Eyes for Optical Flow Sensing in 3D Space with Precision” is funded by NSF.
